Common signs of a website problem
A website can fail in several different ways. Write down the exact message shown on the screen and avoid making repeated account, DNS, or domain changes until you understand the cause.
- The domain says it cannot be found or has expired.
- The browser reports a security or certificate warning.
- The site displays a server, database, PHP, or application error.
- The homepage loads but images, forms, or other pages do not.
- The website works, but customer inquiries are no longer arriving.
- The hosting company has suspended or removed the account.
- The website redirects to an unfamiliar or suspicious page.
Repair or rebuild?
A repair makes sense when the underlying website remains secure, maintainable, and appropriate for the business. Replacement may make more sense when the old system is unsupported, badly compromised, inaccessible, or so outdated that repairing it would preserve the same weaknesses.
Do not cancel the domain
If possible, keep the domain registration active while the situation is investigated. The domain, website hosting, and business email may be separate services even when one company originally sold them together.
What Legend Digital can review
Start by sharing the web address and any screenshots or messages you see. If you have access, information from the registrar, hosting account, or previous provider can help. Legend Digital can then outline whether the next step appears to be repair, migration, recovery, or a clean replacement.
